Types of movies:
爱情电影 / 浪漫电影
Different movies have different indented audiences. If it is a commercial film then it only needs box office acclaim. The story of these movies is relatively simply and easy for most people to comprehend. It is the depth that is most popular, not to give people enlightenment.
If the movies orientation is not this, and the director would like to express a view of his own ideas, then the box office is not the only opinion that matters. After all the majority of society watches a movie to relax, and not to reflect and ponder. However if the box office is extremely dismal, this is also a failure because he wasn’t able to connect with a lot of people.
Why was the value of the box office not that high? In fact high grossing box offices films are also of good quality. Displaying magnificent performances, introductions to the story, such as wins and good special effect are all included in box office success.
Genuinely good films have artistic quality and are not without box offices success, although few become number one, they are able to be compared to the most popular movies. Through the wash of time passing, they will ultimately nevertheless be remembered

Knowing that whoever stole his gun could use the three bullets inside the gun to kill, Ma Shan cannot help but think that someone from his sister’s wedding could have stolen it.
After questioning some key suspects, he finds out that he was sent home the previous night in a car by Zhou Xiaogang. Ma Shan knocks on Zhou’s door but is greeted by Li Xiaomeng, Ma’s former lover. After seeing her, Ma Shan is still not able to sort out any clues and becomes suspicious of her, this confusion (and possible obsession with Li Xiaomeng) causes his wife to think that he is being unfaithful. Suddenly, Li Xiaomeng was murdered with the missing gun and he became the prime suspect and was brought into custody. After some calm thinking, he finally began his search for his missing gun.

A. Different movies have different audiences. If a movie is a commercial one, than the only importance is box office performance. These types of movies have rater simple plots that are easy for the majority to accept, but after the movie is over, it is merely popular, and absolutely does not give people an enlightening experience or inspiration.
B. If a movie isn’t this type, or if the director wants to express his ideas, than box office performance isn’t necessarily the sole criterion. After all, the majority of society sees movies in order to relax, and not to go ponder something. But if the box office success is extremely poor, the movie is still a failure because it did not get enough people to consider a response.
C. If a movie has no artistic value, then why is the box office success so high? Actually, movies with good box office success indeed have artistic value. A movie that is very extravagant, with a story that wins people over and excellent special effects are all elements of box office success.
D. Genuinely good artistic value movies don’t have poor box office results. Although it may not reach number one, it will still be in a relatively high spot. As time passes on, they finally remain in people’s memories.
Ningtai, Chunhui, and Yujun
Why do less artistic films do so well at the box office? In truth, movies that perform well at the box office do have some artistic merit. Drawing people in with magnificent settings, compelling stories, and good special effects are all factors that lead to a successful box office performance.

A. Different movies have different audiences. If a movie is a commercial one, then the only importance is box office performance. These types of movies have rather simple plots that are easy for the majority to accept. But if you take a deeper look, it is merely popular, and certainly does not engage people or inspire them.
b. If a movie was not positioned this way but instead in a way so the director can express some of his own feelings, then he is not aiming to have box office success. After all, majority of the people watch a movie to relax, not to think. If the movie did not have any box office success, however, it is still a failure because he did not allow enough people to develop sympathy.

Thoroughly thinking about the people who are most suspicious: Liu who sells sheep meat noodles, Zhou who took him home, and Zhou’s old lover who randomly appears at Zhou’s house, Li, Mashan still has no idea of who stole his gun. His suspicion towards Li, however, includes some very complicated feelings, which leads to his wife to think he has changed his affection. At the same time, Li was killed in Zhou’s house and Mashan was taken into custody as the suspect. After some reflection, he finally straightened out some confusing points and started the journey to search for the missing gun.

Abroad, the space in which art films survive is large. For example, in France, the audience’s debate about artistic achievement is an art film’s guarantee of good box office sales.
In 2009, Chinese movies had a breakthrough and produced a lot of high-budget movies. The industrialization of movies expanded China’s movie market. The mainstream movies were commercialized and led to artistic directors to give up their personal trademarks. They now are faced with filming for the market in hope of producing a successful box office film.
2. 在国内，艺术片票房业绩不佳的现象继续延续。由于缺乏专门 的艺术院线，艺术影片上映困难，导致投入产出资金周转不灵，艺术电影的制作数量减少。
Within the country, artistic films’ poor box office performance is seen as a bad ongoing phenomenon. Due to lacking specialized artistic variation, artistic films have difficulties getting screened. This leads to producers putting their own money into funding films, but it’s not enough. The number of artistic films being produced is falling.
Abroad, the space in which art films survive is large. For example, in France, the audience’s high level of artistic cultivation guarantees an art film will have good box office sales.

Ma Shan is a policeman in a small border town in Southwestern China, and one evening while participating in his little sister’s wedding reception he got so drunk that he had to have someone drive him home. When he woke up early the next day, he discovered that his gun – which never left his side – has disappeared without a trace. To figure out who stole the gun, Ma Shan needs to consider who could kill someone with the three bullets in the gun, and can’t help but become horrified when everyone who was at his sister’s wedding falls under his suspicion.
Ma Shan thought over his suspects: the lamb noodle chef Liu Jieba, his number one suspect Zhou Xiaogang, the man who took him home from the wedding, whose trail led him to his former lover Li Xiaomeng who is mysteriously staying at Xiaogang’s home. Ma Shan still isn’t able to figure out who stole his gun, and his suspicion for Li Xiaomeng mixes with his complicated feelings for her. Xiaomeng’s presence causes Ma Shan’s wife to suspect that Ma Shan is compromising their marriage. During this time, Li Xiaomeng is found dead at Zhou Xiaogang’s home, killed by Ma Shan’s missing gun. Ma Shan’s involvement causes him to become a suspect, and he is taken into custody. After calmly reflecting on it, Ma Shan is able to sort out the confusion and begin his quest after the person who stole his gun.
