Chinese 202 Weeks#07/08 – Group Voicethread Song Project
Project requirement:
1. Create a Voicethread slide presentation.
2. Record comments, including the following info (in Chinese):
a. name of artist;
b. basic biographical info about the singer (place/date of birth or age);
c. popularity of this singer and the type of music s/he makes;
d. name three songs your group haved listened and the song you choose to present;
e. the reason you choose this song;
f. what is the song about;
g. where to find more info about the singer (listen/purchase mp3; mucis videos on youtube, youku, sina, iTune).
3. Include at least 6 slides (use both photos, images and PDF/Word text files), one of the slides has to be a text slide - select a few lines of lyrics (4-6 lines), and provide a good readable English translation.
4. Recorded oral comments need to be accompany every slide.
5. Each teammate is expected to share the workload of research, writing, making slides and recoriding.

Since the mid-1990s, Taiwan’s unique brand of Mandopop (華語流行音樂; Huá Yǔ Liú Xíng Yīn Yuè) has dictated the musical tastes of the mainland and the rest of Chinese-speaking Asia. This title explores Mandopop’s surprisingly complex cultural implications in Taiwan and the PRC, where it has established new gender roles and created a vocabulary to express individualism.
